Getting Around in Malta

Getting around in Malta is easy-peasy. Due to the small size of the country (and even more so as regards its sister island Gozo), it is pretty much possible to traverse the whole island in under an hour! If you are here on holiday or on an extended stay, these are your main options – first of all, you can catch a bus.

The main bus terminal is in Malta’s capital Valletta and there are buses to every town and village to and from there. If you’re not keen on buses, taxis are your friend, as is private vehicle hire. Finally, if you want to see the sights as you travel, there are a number of open-topped sightseeing buses you can catch.

To get to Gozo (and the archipelago’s even smaller island Comino), there is a ferry service.
